Yukihiro Takahashi - 1981 - Neuromantic

One of many solo outings by Yellow Magic Orchestra's Yukihiro Takahasi.
On this release he has assistance from his bandmates in YMO and members of Roxy Music.
Slick, stylish and dreamy.
The closing track "Something in the Air" is a real treat.

Here's the video:

Optiganally Yours - 1998 - Spotlight On

Rob Crow and Pea Hix make dreamy, whimsical pop songs centering around the Optigan organs of the 70s. This album has a real timeless feel. Unlike anything I've heard, aside from their other album! Don't pass it up!

Tatsuhiko Asano - 2008 - Spacewatch

In 2008 Tatsuhiko Asano released the follow-up to his debut masterpiece, 'Genny Haniver', which I posted here last June.
This album is more of the same, but in this case, it's a good thing!
Emotive, full of beautiful textures and truly memorable.
You're going to want this in your collection!

Sucrette - 2009 - Bon Voyage

From last.fm:
"Sucrette. is a shibuya kei revivalist-french pop-bossas-and even picopop duo that comes from Kyoto.
Shiho on vocals with her whispering and childish voice.
With Hidetaka Okuda on keyboards and programming."

Their music is sugary sweet.
Somehow relaxing and energizing simultaneously.
Perfect for cats on bicycles!

Pascal Rogé - 1996 - After the Rain: The Soft Sounds of Erik Satie

French virtuoso pianist Pascal Rogé plays a selection of pieces by legendary composer, Erik Satie. The results are (as you can imagine) very pleasant. Warm and subtle. Beautiful and introspective. Great late night music. Treat yourself. You deserve it!

Jew Funk & Pirates on the Moon - 2003 - Lost Treasures

Experimental hip-hop monsterwork featuring a grip of Digital Hardcore Recordings alumni and friends.
These sessions laid the groundwork for the Puppetmastaz project.
Some of the tracks also appeared on Chilly Gonzales' solo albums.
Great for collectors or anyone who appreciates inventive hip-hop devoid of materialism and superficiality.

Wada Hiroshi and His Mahina Stars

Wada Hiroshi and His Mahina Stars made some really wonderful ballads.
Lush strings, slide guitar and acoustics led by a chorus of well trained vibrato!
I've been unable to track down a full length, but here is a compilation of 9 singles spanning a decade (1956-1966) in chronological order.
Beautiful and haunting.
